Hail Mary full of grace
Plettenberg Bay has very limited shopping, and it is especially difficult to access religious items that might be available at religious shops in the big cities. So when we do access such items, it is a special occurrence. There are a couple of quaint little shops / 2nd hand / antique shops which sometimes receives religious items to sell. I have my name down at these shops, with instructions for them to phone me if and when such items come into their shops.
A couple from the UK were visiting Plett and wanted to come and see the Centre. While visiting, they told me that they bought a Mary statue the other day at one of these shops. The shop owner had said to them: "You are lucky to get this statue, because there is a lady in Plett who regularly visits and she buys all our religious items" (ie me!). I was quite upset and angry that the shop had not phoned me as requested, as i had missed out on a Mary statue. Mary must have heard my lamentations!
The next day, i went to my evening Christian Growth Group, led by one of our Methodist ministers, Colleen. After the meeting, she called me aside and said: "I have a gift for you. An elderly parishioner died, and i was given this Mary statue to give to someone suitable. I immediately thought of you." Isn't that incredible! Thank you Mary! So now i have 3 statues of Mary ...
