Believing God for our Promised Land

BELIEVING GOD ... FOR OUR PROMISED LAND
Don’t just believe in God, but BELIEVE GOD.

Picture
After Moses died, God tells his successor, Joshua, to enter the Promised Land. God says: "I will give you every place where you set your foot." (JOSHUA 1:3) We begin our journey to the Promised Land at the water’s edge, ready to cross over.

GENESIS 15:18-21: God tells Abraham: To your descendants I give this land.
GALATIANS 3:26-29: We are Abraham’s seed and heirs to this promise.
God has given us a Promised Land – a place where He wants to take us. God wants to bring us victory wherever we step our feet in His name. We will live in completion and perfection in Heaven. But God also promises us things for this life.

We are chosen, supernaturally empowered and blessed. This is the destiny of every believer, including you and me. We want to receive our inheritance NOW in this life as well as later in Heaven. But God will not force anything on you – you must WANT to fulfil your destiny and calling.

Promised Land = place where my theology merges with my reality.
Theology says: we are more than conquerers. But are you living as a conquerer?
Theology says: by faith you can move mountains. Do you believe that you can re-move the mountains / obstacles in your life?

JOHN 15:1-11: Jesus says: I am the vine and my Father is the gardener. A branch must remain in the vine in order to bear fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing. If you remain in me, ask whatever you wish and it shall be given to you.

ATTRIBUTES OF PROMISED LAND:

PROMISED LAND IS A PLACE OF POSSESSION:
God says: You shall POSSESS the land I am to give to you.
We must POSSESS Christ’s Words ie it must abide in us, both the logos (general) and the rhema (specific). In times of crisis, the Word of God must come to us. We must have a powerful prayer life, so that we can pray within the Will of God. God wants to answer our prayers, if we pray according to His will. We must POSSESS the joy of Jesus. The Promised Land has joy even amidst the challenges and difficulties of life.

PROMISED LAND IS A PLACE OF BLESSING:
God wants to bless His obedient children. He is a giving God. He wants to give us every spiritual blessing: joy, peace, healing. We will be tested as to what constitutes a blessing: our version vs God’s version. Often we can only see something as a blessing afterwards. God wants to use your life. He wants to bless every one of us. But instead of BELIEVING AND RECEIVING, we wish and wine!

PROMISED LAND IS A PLACE OF ABIDING:
We are told to remain (abide) in Christ. We are to abide in God’s love.
DEUTERONOMY 4:37: Because He loved your forefathers, he brought you out of Egypt to give you land as an inheritance.
DEUTERONOMY 7:7: The Lord chose you because He loved you. He keeps His Covenant of Love for 1000 generations.

PROMISED LAND IS A PLACE OF GREAT HARVEST:
DEUTERONOMY 8:7: God wants to bring you into a good land. The land is described as having springs of water, food and honey, treasures hidden in the ground. God wants you to bear much fruit to His glory. Our life should bring forth an abundant harvest.
EPHESIANS 2:10: We were created to do good works.

PROMISED LAND INVOLVES CONQUEST:
You don’t just receive it. You must participate in the conquest, you must take it, gain it by blood, sweat and tears or you won’t appreciate it.

PROMISED LAND IS PLACE OF VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY:
JOSHUA 3:5: Joshua told the people to consecrate themselves, for the Lord was going to do amazing things among them. Consecrate yourself to the Lord and He will do amazing things, wondrous things, miracles. Have FAITH and PRAY that God will do something amazing in your life. Step up your sanctification.

HINDRRANCES TO ENTERING THE PROMISED LAND:
HEBREWS 3:7-18: If you hear His voice, do not harden your heart ie be rebellious, disobedient. Do not have a sinful unbelieving heart. A whole generation never reached the Promised Land, but died in the desert. To reach the Promised Land, you must be obedient and BELIEVE. UNBELIEF is the biggest hindrance. My bride is paralysed by unbelief. Revival happens by faith. We see so little, because we believe so little! We have not yet begun to believe God and all the amazing and wondrous things He can do in our lives!

FAITH STATEMENT:
1.     God is who He says He is
2.     God can do what He says He can do
3.     I am who God says I am
4.     I can do all things through Christ
5.     God’s Word is alive and active in me

I am not really familiar with the Bible has to say because I haven't gotten the chance to put my 100% focus into it, but it makes me happy to know that you've written it here ands have it simplified. What I am sure of is the fact that I have my own faith that makes me who I am and I feel that God has always been with me ever since. Once you have faith towards God, it seems like everything you receive are all blessings from him!
